About the Role and Company

At LandSea, a division of Aramark Canada, we provide accommodation and catering services for workforce camps located in remote areas of British Columbia. Our mission is to create comfortable living environments anywhere our clients operate. Camp staff usually stay onsite during shifts and have scheduled breaks offsite. Accommodations typically include private or shared bathrooms, full meals, WIFI, and sometimes health or gym facilities. Staff work extended hours (10-12 hours) over consecutive days, and overtime pay is provided. A drug-and-alcohol-free culture is strictly enforced with pre-employment testing.

Position Overview

The Breakfast Baker / Housekeeper role involves managing housekeeping duties to keep the camp's facilities well-organized and running smoothly. It also requires preparing and serving breakfast items and baking according to a predetermined menu.

Employment Details and Benefits

  • Temporary contract from September 11th to December 21st, 2026
  • Wages ranging from $24.62 to $25.65 per hour

  • Shift schedule includes 10- or 12-hour shifts dependent on operational needs
  • Rotational pattern: four weeks on-site followed by two weeks off

Camp Location and Logistics

The camp is in a remote area about five hours south of Smithers, BC. All travel logistics are organized for employees to and from the camp.

Key Responsibilities

Breakfast Cook / Baker

  • Prepare breakfast dishes including eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, breakfast meats, and other menu items
  • Set up and stock cooking stations prior to service
  • Follow recipes, portion control, and quality standards strictly
  • Monitor food stocks and communicate supply needs to management
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Comply with all food safety and health regulations
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies
  • Operate efficiently during high-volume breakfast service periods
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff as needed
  • Clean kitchen equipment and workstations after service

Housekeeping and Guest Services

  • Manage room cleaning inspections and schedules
  • Remove garbage and dust all shelving areas
  • Sweep and vacuum mudrooms, hallways, and entrances
  • Verify guest room changeovers and report status
  • Clean bathrooms daily, including floors, fixtures, and mirrors
  • Restock toilet paper, paper towels, and soap
  • Maintain tidiness and cleanliness in laundry and linen storage areas
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Ensure accommodations and common areas comply with company standards
  • Respond promptly to client and guest concerns
  • Provide excellent customer service in a remote camp environment

Physical Demands and Equipment

This role requires physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing or walking. The employee may need to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Candidate Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience in a related field, ideally camp catering with housekeeping duties
  • Between 3 to 5 years experience as a breakfast cook, line cook, or baker is preferred
  • Experience in high volume baking with at least 70% scratch baking
  • Knowledge of breakfast food preparation methods and cooking techniques
  • Certifications such as Basic First Aid, Food Safe (basic and advanced), WHMIS, HACCP, Travel Restraint, Transport of Dangerous Goods, Accident Investigation, and Health & Safety training are advantageous
  • Familiarity with Camp Manager Database software and retail POS systems
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good decision-making and delegation capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Team-oriented with ability to motivate and support colleagues

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Complete LandSea and site-specific orientation and health & safety training
  • Pass drug and alcohol screening
  • Obtain clear criminal record check
  • Complete health questionnaire
  • Provide valid government-issued identification for travel if necessary
