Job description
Overview
We are seeking an entrepreneurial Branch Manager to take full leadership and accountability for the overall operational success of a retail store in Gaborone, Botswana. The incumbent will be responsible for driving sales, managing profitability, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining excellent store presentation to operate the business as if it were their own.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement daily sales initiatives, control store budgets, manage expenses, and analyze sales trends to achieve profitability targets.
- Lead floor operations by applying visual merchandising plans, overseeing promotional activities, and conducting routine meetings and store walkthroughs to ensure high standards.
- Recruit, develop, and retain skilled team members through regular performance reviews and training management to build a strong, high-performing culture.
- Manage critical store administrative tasks such as cash reconciliation and stock auditing while minimizing stock losses and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Address customer concerns promptly on-site, monitor online reviews and CRM data daily, and motivate staff to provide outstanding shopping experiences.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum educational qualification: Matric certificate.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years in retail environments.
- Key attributes: Decision-making, leadership, planning and organization, stress management, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Technical skills: Proficient with Google Suite, adept in stock control operations, and knowledgeable about retail and consumer finance systems such as SAP and SAS, along with relevant laws including CPA, NCA, and POPIA.
