BO Transmission Engineer

Position Overview

We invite skilled professionals to join as a BO Transmission Engineer, responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transmission and IP network infrastructure to ensure optimum network performance and service reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive second-line troubleshooting for IP and transmission networks, including routing devices, switches, MPLS setups, and transmission nodes.
• Oversee incident management, problem resolution, and configuration operations to sustain network stability.
• Lead investigations into transmission outages and service quality issues.
• Configure, install, and upgrade network hardware and related services.
• Perform acceptance testing, audits, and health evaluations of network nodes.
• Collaborate effectively with field teams, access groups, operations units, and external vendors to resolve complex network issues.
• Coordinate and follow up on activities related to transmission network design and implementation.
• Manage escalation processes by engaging third-line support when necessary.
• Review and validate network changes and transmission-related tasks.
• Participate in technical reviews, problem-solving sessions, and ongoing improvements.
• Work within a 24/5 shift schedule and provide weekend on-call assistance as needed.

Candidate Profile

• Between 1 and 4 years of experience in transmission network operations or troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking principles and protocols.
• Practical experience with Cisco routers and switches.
• Proficiency in diagnosing transmission technologies and managing network nodes.
• Familiarity with Ericsson transmission equipment such as Mini-Link TN, 6600, 6352, R6000, SIU, and TCU is advantageous.
• Understanding of lifecycle processes: configuration, incident, problem, and change management.
• Experience with network monitoring and management solutions.
• Background in telecommunications industry is preferred.
• Basic scripting and automation skills are a plus.
• Cisco and/or Ericsson certifications in networking are desirable.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and perform efficiently under pressure.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accountability with a customer-centric approach.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and on-call support schedules.

This role operates onsite with a 24/5 shift pattern and weekend on-call commitment.
