Role Overview

This position calls for a full-time, on-site BIM Mechanical Engineer located in Doha. The professional will be responsible for creating, coordinating, and managing mechanical building services models within BIM platforms, ensuring they align with both project specifications and Meinhardt's quality standards. Key tasks involve preparing detailed mechanical layouts and shop drawings, updating BIM models throughout all design phases and construction, and resolving interdisciplinary coordination challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mechanical services BIM models in compliance with project and company standards.
• Generate detailed mechanical layouts and fabrications drawings for various project stages.
• Continuously update and refine models throughout design and construction to reflect changes and feedback.
• Engage actively in interdisciplinary coordination by collaborating with mechanical engineers, architects, structural and electrical teams.
• Participate in coordination meetings and incorporate input effectively into BIM models.
• Support preparation of tender and construction documents.
• Perform clash detection exercises and conduct model audits to ensure quality and compliance.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancement of BIM processes, workflows, and template development.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in BIM and CAD software, specifically Revit MEP, Navisworks, and AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of mechanical building services design including HVAC, plumbing systems, fire protection, and equipment layout.
• Expertise in model coordination, clash detection, interdisciplinary coordination, and adherence to BIM execution plans and standards.
• Experience preparing technical project documentation such as drawings, schedules, and as-built records.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret engineering calculations, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with external stakeholders.
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field; BIM or Revit professional certifications are advantageous.
• Prior relevant experience working as a BIM Mechanical Engineer, preferably within building or infrastructure projects in the MENA region.
• Familiarity with regional construction practices, local codes, and sustainability concepts is highly desirable.
