Role Overview

As a BIM Engineer based in Leixlip, County Kildare, you will be instrumental in developing and executing engineering projects, collaborating closely with project leads, a multidisciplinary team of engineers, construction professionals, and industry specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce precise 3D BIM models for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and related processes by interpreting P&ID schematics using Autodesk software and advanced Point Cloud technologies ensuring detailed accuracy.
• Coordinate and collaborate effectively with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to address design discrepancies and ensure integration within the BIM environment.
• Leverage tools such as Navisworks Manage to detect and resolve clashes between mechanical components and other building elements prior to construction stages.
• Generate 2D design and shop drawings from fully developed BIM models to support construction documentation.
• Guarantee compliance with project-specific BIM protocols, industry BIM standards, and adhere strictly to the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Offer technical mentorship and support to junior team members, aiding their BIM implementation skills and participate in project meetings as required.
• Manage model revision processes and perform design assessments to optimize mechanical system performance and resolve technical issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise with BIM software platforms, especially AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
• Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles relating to HVAC and piping systems.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills tailored for multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex design and technical challenges.
• Solid knowledge of BIM workflows and content standards with practical application to projects.
• Fluent in verbal and written communication to articulate technical information to diverse audiences.
• Capable of effective teamwork with architects, engineers, and project management personnel in a collaborative BIM environment.
• Attention to detail for precise modelling, documentation, and coordination tasks.
• Adaptability to evolving BIM technologies and fast-changing construction industry dynamics.
• Commitment to continuous professional development to maintain proficiency with newer BIM tools and methodologies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills ensuring project timelines are met.
• Experience assisting in project management tasks including scheduling and cost estimation adds value.
