Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join a reputable Tier 1 contractor located on the South Coast. The company has a strong presence across the UK, known for integrity and high-quality delivery, and is highly regarded by clients, suppliers, and the supply chain alike. Specializing in framework and negotiated contracts primarily serving Education, Care, NHS, MOD, MOJ, and local authorities, they manage projects valued between GBP20 million and GBP90 million on a two-stage basis.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
The Bid Manager will integrate into the existing preconstruction team, participating from initial bid selection onward. The organization selectively targets bids that align with their capabilities and business objectives. Responsibilities include collaborating with the preconstruction team to strategize and develop comprehensive and competitive first-stage bids, presenting bids to clients, and progressing successful bids through the second stage with close cooperation alongside estimating and design teams. The role also entails serving as the primary client contact to handle all inquiries throughout the bid process.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
Ideal candidates will possess a proven track record managing large, complex bids, with experience in two-stage procurement schemes considered an advantage. The ability to grasp technical questions, produce detailed and high-quality bid documentation, and develop thorough and technical content—including initial pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs)—is essential.

The company fosters a supportive and inspiring work culture, welcoming new ideas and encouraging innovation in bid management processes. They provide a competitive salary coupled with an attractive benefits package, including an annual bonus linked to both individual and regional performance.
