Job description
Overview
Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Lusail, Qatar, is hiring a Bartender-Lead to join their team. This role is situated onsite and falls under the Food and Beverage category, aimed at delivering excellent guest experiences through beverage preparation and service.
Key Duties
- Address guest inquiries about wine origins, harvests, and styles.
- Check inventory quality and quantities, placing replenishment orders as needed.
- Restock alcoholic beverages on a bottle-by-bottle basis.
- Communicate last call times during closing hours.
- Prepare drinks for guests accurately following specific recipes and measurement systems.
- Serve wine and champagne by opening and delivering bottles to guests.
- Manage cash register operations at shift end, including reporting, resolving discrepancies, delivering receipts, and securing cash.
- Ensure adequate change is available for transactions and maintain security of cash register at all times.
- Secure all liquor, beer, wine, refrigerators, cupboards, and storage areas.
- Anticipate replenishment needs and communicate promptly.
- Foster teamwork among staff and assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, discipline, motivation, and leadership by example.
- Comply with company safety policies; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain clean, professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Protect company information privacy and assets.
- Support and respect coworkers; collaborate to meet shared goals.
- Meet quality assurance standards and expectations.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting, moving, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds, standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and handling various sized objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Navigate various physical spaces including narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, or slippery surfaces, and stairs or ramps.
- Greet and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and coworkers, including answering telephone calls appropriately and responding to employee concerns.
- Perform other reasonable work tasks as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Completed secondary education or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- At least one year of relevant work experience.
- Supervisory experience is not required.
- No licenses or certifications are mandatory.
