Barber

Overview

This role requires working exclusively on-site in a barbershop or hairstyling salon setting in Lethbridge, Alberta. The candidate must have completed secondary (high) school education and possess between two to three years of experience in barbering. The position demands physical stamina and attention to detail within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on various beauty care treatments.
• Examine hair and scalp conditions to determine appropriate care.
• Cut and trim hair following clients' preferences and instructions.
• Shampoo clients' hair effectively.
• Shave and trim beards and mustaches carefully.
• Provide hair treatments such as waving, straightening, tinting, and scalp conditioning massages.
• Apply bleaches, dyes, tints, or rinses to colour, frost, or streak hair.
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair professionally.
• Recommend hairstyles compatible with clients' physical features and personal tastes.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Barber Licence.
• Proficient in hairstyling techniques including blow drying.
• Experienced in hair colouring, especially applying dyes and tints.
• Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment performing repetitive tasks.
• Physically able to spend extended periods standing, walking, and combining sitting and standing activities.
• Strong client focus, dependability, effective interpersonal skills, excellent verbal communication, reliability, and teamwork orientation.
