Role Description
The position of Bar Captain is a full-time, on-premise role located at the Fortune Park Hotels Ltd. in Vellore. The incumbent will manage daily bar operations, overseeing staff supervision, coordinating service activities, and guaranteeing prompt, courteous, and efficient guest hospitality. Duties encompass managing beverage preparation and presentation, monitoring stock and inventory, enforcing hygiene and safety protocols, and ensuring adherence to hotel and brand standards. Collaboration with Food & Beverage and Sales teams is essential to promote beverage menus, upsell products, and support special events or promotional initiatives. Additional responsibilities include staff training, shift scheduling, addressing guest feedback, and partnering with management to achieve revenue targets and maintain service excellence.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in customer service and maintaining excellent guest relations with an emphasis on professional and courteous bar service.
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including cocktails, wines, spirits, bar menus, and fundamental food safety and hygiene standards.
- Strong communication abilities for interacting effectively with guests, colleagues, and management in a respectful and clear manner.
- Experience in training, mentoring, and supporting bar or F&B staff, including onboarding and upholding service policies.
- Proficient sales and upselling abilities to enhance beverage sales and promote hotel services contributing to revenue growth and guest satisfaction.
- Previous experience working in bars, lounges, or hotel F&B environments; leadership or supervisory roles preferred.
- Possession of a diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or related disciplines is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with capability to maintain composure under fast-paced conditions.
- Basic computer skills relevant to POS systems, order processing, and reporting; familiarity with hotel management software is beneficial.
