Bakery Associate

Overview

Join Walmart Canada as a Bakery Associate to hone your customer service and retail skills while working in a dynamic bakery environment. This role involves maintaining and organizing the bakery department, stocking products, and ensuring exceptional service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality and appealing presentation of bakery products such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Ensure the bakery department is well-stocked and ready for daily business operations.
• Properly label and price all bakery merchandise to meet store standards.
• Comply with cold chain policies, including thermometer calibration, temperature monitoring, handling, product rotation, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Implement food safety protocols, following strict sanitation and cleaning procedures within the department.
• Follow procedures for ordering inventory, clearances, markups/markdowns, and accurate signage and pricing.
• Prepare bakery items following thawing and baking instructions accurately to uphold product quality and appearance.
• Secure all bakery displays to ensure safety and proper organization.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $18.05 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be aged 16 years or older.
