Position Overview

Join Sodexo as a Baker at Northwestern State University, located in Natchitoches, LA. This full-time role requires open availability across any shift, offering an hourly wage between $11 and $15. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare assorted baked products such as breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, cakes, and pastries from scratch using established recipes and production plans.
• Measure and weigh ingredients precisely, mix dough and batters manually or with mixers, shape and cut dough carefully, and bake items to desired standards.
• Manage oven settings, monitor baking durations, and ensure products are stored, held, and served at appropriate temperatures.
• Maintain and organize the bake shop area, assuring proper stock rotation, storage practices, and labeling while keeping the workspace clean and orderly.
• Pay meticulous attention to quality control, special requests, and presentation to guarantee top-tier baked goods are served.
• Perform physical activities such as significant walking, standing for extended periods (possibly over 8 hours), reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts and perform additional duties as required by different client needs or business demands.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum educational qualification of High School diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.
• Between zero and one year of experience in baking or similar bakery preparation roles preferred, specializing in pastries or baked goods is a plus.
