Role Overview

We are in search of backend engineers to develop the foundational systems for BJAK's AI-powered Neobank application. This includes constructing reliable APIs, workflows, and robust financial product infrastructure that can efficiently scale across markets, partners, and millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services, APIs, and workflows for the AI Neobank platform.
• Support diverse products encompassing insurance, payments, wallets, savings, investing, travel, and financial services.
• Design reliable systems managing user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliations, notifications, and operations.
• Collaborate with product and mobile teams to expedite customer-facing feature delivery.
• Integrate seamlessly with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers, and other third parties.
• Enhance system reliability, observability, security, and performance.
• Create practical, auditable systems compliant with regulatory financial product standards.

Candidate Profile

• Possess at least 3 years of backend engineering experience.
• Solid understanding of APIs, database management, system architecture, and production-level debugging.
• Experienced in building scalable backend services and integrating third-party APIs.
• Know how to ensure security, reliability, data integrity, and manage operational edge cases.
• Ability to balance trade-offs between development speed, quality, and associated risk.
• Comfortable engaging cross-functionally with product, mobile, operations, and business teams.
• Prior experience in fintech sectors such as payments, insurance, lending, banking, or regulated financial products is highly advantageous.

Location and Work Arrangement

This position is located in the United Kingdom and requires a hybrid work setup, including a minimum of three days per week onsite at our UK office.
