Role Overview
We are searching for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer with comprehensive expertise in managing enterprise Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud operations. The role demands proficiency in Azure infrastructure, networking, security, automation, and troubleshooting, along with strong collaboration skills to work with technical stakeholders directly. This is a full-time position based in Hyderabad, India, with working hours from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST.
Key Duties
- Architect, deploy, set up, and maintain Azure infrastructure components.
- Handle Azure virtual machines, networks (VNets, Subnets), network security groups, storage, applications, functions, key vaults, and load balancers.
- Oversee Azure networking elements such as private endpoints, DNS configurations, routing, VPN setups, and connectivity management.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID and Azure role-based access control (RBAC).
- Monitor Azure resources through Azure Monitor and Log Analytics tools.
- Identify and resolve issues related to infrastructure, connectivity, authentication, performance, and deployments.
- Ensure compliance with Azure security policies, governance practices, backup operations, and disaster recovery plans.
- Create infrastructure automation scripts utilizing PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Support Azure DevOps pipelines and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
- Track Azure expenses and contribute to cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with application, data, security, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
- Document technical configurations, architecture designs, and operational procedures thoroughly.
- Take full responsibility for assigned incidents, change requests, deployments, and resolving technical issues independently.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years in infrastructure or cloud engineering roles.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure networking and infrastructure services.
- Proficiency managing VNets, Subnets, NSGs, Private Endpoints, VMs, Storage, App Services, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Backup.
- Strong understanding of DNS, routing, firewall configurations, VPNs, and cloud connectivity.
- Experienced with Microsoft Entra ID and Azure RBAC administration.
- Skilled in scripting with PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness and ability to work the shift from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST.
Preferred Expertise
- Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for infrastructure as code.
- Hands-on exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric, or Power BI infrastructure.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud scenarios involving Azure and on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with ExpressRoute and Private DNS services.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud security and Azure Policy governance features.
- Proficiency in CI/CD processes and automating infrastructure deployment.
- Relevant Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305 are advantageous.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The candidate should be a practical Azure Cloud Engineer capable of independently diagnosing problems, developing solutions, liaising with technical teams, verifying outcomes, and documenting results comprehensively. This position is hands-on and not focused purely on architecture.
