AV Technician

Position Overview

The AV Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audiovisual, projection, lighting, and conferencing equipment at The St. Regis Downtown Dubai. This non-management role involves managing AV equipment for banquet and meeting rooms, ensuring all devices are fully functional, repairing or cleaning equipment as needed, and properly labeling any defective items while promptly communicating issues to supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain AV, projection, lighting, and conferencing systems and equipment.
• Oversee AV equipment installation in banquet and meeting spaces according to event specifications.
• Repair and clean AV equipment when necessary; identify and report any malfunctions.
• Arrange and secure cables and wires by taping and dressing them appropriately.
• Verify delivered equipment and room setups against the Banquet Event Order; communicate any changes to management.
• Assist and educate guests on proper AV equipment use, recommend additional AV services, and monitor equipment during usage.
• Dismantle, remove, and secure equipment after event completion.
• Adhere to Marriott Visual Productions Standard Operating Procedures.
• Comply with all company safety and security guidelines, promptly reporting accidents and hazardous conditions.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality while protecting company assets.
• Provide exceptional guest service by welcoming guests warmly, anticipating needs, and expressing sincere appreciation.
• Use clear and professional communication to collaborate with team members and guests.
• Develop constructive relationships and support team efforts to achieve shared objectives.
• Meet quality assurance standards consistently.
• Perform physical tasks involving lifting and handling items up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery visually to ensure they are in safe working order.
• Complete other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is required.
• Minimum of one year relevant work experience in audiovisual or related fields.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications necessary.

Additional Information

This position is located at Marasi Drive, Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and requires onsite presence. The role operates within a full-time schedule under the Event Management category and does not involve remote work.
