Role Overview

As an Automotive Inspector, you'll be the expert evaluating vehicles to ensure Carma acquires only the best cars in the Sydney area. Your role involves thorough inspections, clear communication with sellers, and skillful negotiation to secure advantageous deals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed vehicle inspections on customer cars by visiting their locations, examining each vehicle comprehensively from front to back.
  • Maintain constant communication with sellers, providing timely updates about your arrival to facilitate a smooth and stress-free inspection process.
  • Follow a structured inspection procedure, verifying that physical observations correspond exactly with prior reports and documentation.
  • Employ strong negotiation abilities to agree on fair prices that satisfy both Carma and the vehicle sellers, finalizing deals immediately on-site.
  • Document all inspection data meticulously using an iPad, including results, compliance paperwork, and photographic evidence to ensure completeness.

Candidate Profile

  • Genuine enthusiasm or passion for automobiles, recognized as the trusted go-to adviser among peers for car-related matters.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, able to identify even minor imperfections or irregularities in a vehicle.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse customers, whether automotive enthusiasts or everyday sellers, adapting communication style as needed.
  • Proven capability in negotiation, consistently achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Self-driven with strong ownership of tasks, comfortable working independently while often on the road alone.
  • Appreciation for following systematic processes and openness to recommending improvements.
  • Possession of a valid New South Wales driver’s licence.
  • Availability and flexibility to work a rotating schedule, which includes every alternate Saturday.
