Role Overview

We seek an Audit Senior to join the expanding Financial Services Audit & Assurance team in Auckland. Collaborating closely with Managers and Partners, you will take a pivotal role in executing audits and assurance projects for financial services clients, navigating complex regulatory frameworks and prominent organisations.

This role involves overseeing critical audit areas, mentoring junior colleagues, cultivating client partnerships, and enhancing your technical knowledge in financial services assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and finalise audit and assurance engagements within the financial services sector.
• Lead audit field activities and supervise junior staff, providing coaching and guidance.
• Identify and evaluate significant business, financial reporting, and regulatory risks.
• Analyze accounting systems, controls, and processes, recommending practical improvements as needed.
• Prepare comprehensive audit documentation and client deliverables such as financial statement reports and governance communications.
• Establish and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication during assignments.
• Ensure audit procedures comply with professional standards, quality benchmarks, and internal methods.
• Partner with Managers and Partners to guarantee high-quality client outcomes.
• Promote a positive team environment and assist in the professional growth of less experienced team members.

Experience and Qualifications

• Three to five or more years of auditing experience in a professional services setting.
• Experience with financial services entities, regulated firms, or complex audit engagements is highly desirable.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Possession of, or progress towards, a CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong knowledge of audit methods and accounting principles.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build client relationships.
• A proactive attitude with a keen interest in deepening expertise in financial services assurance.
