Role Overview

The Steward's primary responsibility is to uphold top-notch standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene across the kitchen, dishwashing, storage, and food service spaces per hotel policies and health regulations. This includes ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and workstations are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly for smooth food and beverage operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and safely handle cleaning chemicals.
• Monitor stock levels, report maintenance and safety issues promptly.
• Assist in waste management, recycling, and maintaining garbage disposal areas.
• Support banquet service and conduct inventory counts.
• Manage special cleaning projects and keep work and storage areas organized.
• Provide basic kitchen assistance as needed.
• Adhere to attendance and roster schedules.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by management to ensure efficient operations of the Stewarding Department.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

• Proficient communication in job-related English.
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Completed high school or equivalent vocational training.
• Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning roles.
• Understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling practices.
• Ability to work with attention to detail, accuracy, speed, cooperation, and follow instructions.
• Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and workflow demands.
• Capability to operate specific machinery safely and stay alert during usage.
• Physical ability to handle equipment transport and endure high temperatures, noise, and moisture in work environments.
