Job description
Role Overview
This position involves the creation, debugging, and deployment of semiconductor Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test programs spanning from initial silicon verification to full-scale production. The role primarily focuses on handling digital, analog, mixed-signal, RF, and Power Management IC (PMIC) devices, emphasizing personal responsibility for characterization, correlation, production release, and efforts to reduce test costs.
There is a preference for candidates experienced with Advantest V93K/V93000 SmarTest versions 7 or 8, and/or Teradyne UltraFLEX systems. Proficiency in PMIC, digital, RF, or mixed-signal devices is especially desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and troubleshoot ATE test programs used for device characterization, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing processes.
- Support initial silicon bring-up, assist in device characterization, and ensure production readiness.
- Develop and debug digital test vectors such as JTAG, SCAN, ATPG, functional, and MBIST patterns.
- Perform Parametric-Voltage-Temperature (PVT) characterization and conduct analysis of parametric and functional failures.
- Correlate test outcomes across various testing stages including bench testing, wafer sort, final testing, and multiple production facilities.
- Enhance test coverage, reduce test time, improve multisite testing efficiency, and minimize overall test costs.
- Investigate yield fluctuations and collaborate with teams involved in design, DFT, product development, quality assurance, and foundry operations.
- Support the integration of testers, handlers, probers, and test interfaces.
- Produce technical reports, release documentation, and comprehensive production handoff materials.
- Assist in New Product Introduction (NPI), qualification lots, and production volume ramp-up.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
- Between 2 and 10+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor testing, product validation, hardware, manufacturing test, or application engineering, dependent on candidate seniority.
- Practical experience working in semiconductor laboratories, with Automated Test Equipment, and/or production testing.
- Strong analytical abilities, adept at debugging and collaborating across different functional teams to solve complex problems.
- Proficiency in English is required for this role.
Technical Skills
- Development of semiconductor Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test programs.
- Experience with Advantest V93000 / V93K or Teradyne UltraFLEX / J750 test systems.
- Knowledge of wafer sort, circuit probe (CP), and final test (FT) procedures.
- Expertise in first-silicon bring-up and device characterization across Process, Voltage, and Temperature (PVT) conditions.
- Digital vector debugging including JTAG, SCAN, ATPG, and MBIST techniques.
- Yield analysis and strategies for improving yield performance.
- Test time minimization and optimization techniques.
- Proficient in C, C++, and/or ATE scripting languages.
- Experience managing production releases and new product introductions (NPI).
