ATE Application / Field Application Engineer

About the Role

Located in Singapore, this position invites candidates with 5 to over 12 years of hands-on semiconductor testing and application expertise. The role emphasizes providing technical leadership through the entire semiconductor test solution lifecycle, requiring strong customer communication skills in English and readiness to engage regionally. Candidates based in India open to relocating to Singapore are welcomed, subject to employment authorization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with semiconductor clients to define device testing requirements and formulate test strategies.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize automated test equipment (ATE) programs.
• Support the evaluation process, including first silicon bring-up and production qualification phases.
• Analyze test coverage, throughput, yield metrics, and tester utilization challenges.
• Review hardware component needs including load-boards, probe-cards, and sockets.
• Facilitate integration and correlation activities for handlers and probers, including gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies.
• Provide technical trainings, demonstrations, and ongoing application support to customers.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and test cell issues directly at customer sites.
• Act as liaison by communicating customer requirements to product management, research & development, and sales teams.
• Cultivate enduring technical partnerships with customer engineering groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience spanning 5 to 12+ years in semiconductor testing, product validation, manufacturing test, hardware, or applications engineering roles.
• Proven practical experience working in semiconductor labs, with ATE, and/or in production testing environments suited to this role.
• Robust analytical, debugging, and collaborative problem-solving skills across functions.
• Fluency in English essential for customer support and communication.

Technical Competencies

• Expertise in semiconductor test engineering and ATE application engineering.
• Proficient with ATE platforms such as V93K, UltraFLEX, J750 or equivalent systems.
• Skilled in test program development and device characterization.
• Experience with load board and probe card technologies.
• Programming knowledge in C/C++ or similar platform-specific languages.
• Strong technical communication capabilities for customer technical support and collaborations.
