About the Role

Join Rockstar Games' dedicated Game Security team as an Associate Principal Threat Intelligence Analyst based in Oakville, Ontario. This role involves protecting our live service games and organization by analyzing potential threats and conducting comprehensive investigations within an inclusive and highly collaborative setting.

Role Responsibilities

  • Detect and mitigate fraudulent or malicious activities using open-source intelligence (OSINT), internal investigative tools, and methods.
  • Lead complex investigative projects including gathering, assessing, and synthesizing data from multiple sources.
  • Maintain updated intelligence on significant topics and emerging threats relevant to our environment.
  • Deliver consistent and high-quality investigative reporting and intelligence documentation.
  • Assist in managing and responding to security incidents and escalations as they arise.
  • Drive enhancements to investigative workflows through automation and improved tooling.
  • Develop and maintain reporting metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of security programs and support decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies, investigative strategies, and evolving threat landscapes.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight years of experience in threat intelligence, investigative work, or related fields.
  • Expertise in intelligence collection, monitoring, and analytical reporting.
  • Proven ability to conduct complex digital investigations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Hadoop, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience using link analysis techniques and software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance aspects linked to investigations.
  • Background in threat intelligence, open-source intelligence, or internal/external investigations preferred.
  • Knowledge of security assessment and monitoring tools.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with tools like Maltego, Hunchly, Splunk, case management software, and relational databases.
  • Experience within online gaming, live services, or large-scale AAA multiplayer environments.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A mentoring approach with sharing of expertise and best practices.
  • Scripting capabilities, for example in SQL or Python, to support automation and analysis.
  • Basic or higher proficiency in languages other than English.

Additional Details

This is a full-time, on-site position at our Oakville, ON studio.
