Role Overview
Join as an Associate Director in Valuations based in Sydney, leading sophisticated valuation tasks pivotal to major corporate and investment decisions. Your expertise will influence high-profile mergers and acquisitions, tax considerations, litigation challenges, and financial reporting for diverse clients including ASX-listed companies, private equity, and multinational firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead valuation assessments on significant transactions and intricate business matters using custom modelling tailored to client needs and market realities.
- Apply various valuation strategies such as discounted cash flow, earnings multiples, excess earnings, and comparative sales to determine enterprise, equity, and intangible asset values.
- Transform complex data into straightforward, reliable advice by executing detailed model constructions, scenario testing, sensitivity analyses, and delivering comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders like boards and investors.
- Manage client relationships, oversee project budgets and service quality, and provide mentorship to junior team members, promoting leadership and team collaboration.
- Contribute to business development efforts and work closely with firm partners to ensure delivery excellence across engagements.

The Deloitte Valuations group specializes in delivering expert advice on value where stakes are high and challenges are multi-faceted, covering mergers & acquisitions, financial and tax reporting, litigation support, and strategic decisions.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in business and intangible asset valuations within a professional services or related context.
- Solid grasp of key valuation approaches including cost, market, and income methodologies.
- Proven ability to handle complex valuations, build financial models, and conduct detailed data analyses.
- Skilled in juggling multiple priorities, projects, and leading teams simultaneously.
- Keen commercial insight and genuine interest in how markets operate and value creation occurs.
- Excellent communication skills to prepare client-ready reports and deliver compelling presentations fostering trusted relationships.
- Highly proactive and solution-oriented, with a commitment to excellence in dynamic, fast-moving environments.
- Experience or familiarity with analytical tools or techniques such as Visual Basic, SAS, and Monte Carlo simulations is advantageous.
