Our Bridge Design Team is expanding, offering promising career advancement opportunities, including progression towards Technical Director roles backed by senior management support.

Role Summary

We invite dynamic Associate Directors and experienced Senior Bridge Engineers capable of fulfilling the following criteria to join our Cork-based team. This role encompasses leadership, business development, resource planning, design oversight, project management, stakeholder engagement, mentorship, and involvement with Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a team of bridge engineering experts locally.
• Drive business expansion efforts including managing tender submissions for professional service contracts.
• Plan resources strategically across short, medium, and long term to ensure project delivery success.
• Directly contribute to and supervise structural design components of bridge projects.
• Manage medium to large-scale projects ensuring adherence to quality, deadlines, and budget.
• Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Provide mentoring and professional development guidance to junior engineers.
• Assist in fulfilling PSDP responsibilities for project safety oversight.

Candidate Profile

• Highly self-driven, motivated, adaptable, and diligent.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across engineering projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client engagement.
• Experience managing staff effectively.
• A proven track record of delivering exceptional service to both public and private sector clients.
• Comprehensive expertise in bridge design, inspection, structural assessment, and rehabilitation.
• Proficient in Eurocodes standards and structural analysis software like MIDAS Civil or LUSAS.
• Skilled in design and refurbishment work involving concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
• Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with engineering projects in Ireland and/or the UK.

Mandatory Requirements

• A Level 8 Honours degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Relevant post-graduation experience as a Bridge Engineer or Senior Bridge Engineer on Irish projects.
• Chartered Engineer status as Bridge Engineer (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent).
