Position Overview
Join PwC New Zealand as an Associate in our Audit team based in Auckland. In this role, you will contribute to delivering rigorous financial statement audits for clients across diverse industries like banking, insurance, real estate, and funds management. Collaborate closely with client representatives and multi-disciplinary teams to gain insights into reporting practices, identify risks, and ensure trustworthy financial disclosures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare audit documentation and final outputs adhering to PwC's methodologies and quality expectations.
- Execute audit procedures focusing on primary financial statement components and manage assigned audit tasks independently.
- Evaluate financial data, internal control frameworks, and operational processes to uncover risks, challenges, and improvement possibilities.
- Maintain clear communication channels with clients and colleagues to clarify and resolve audit issues.
- Leverage technology, data analytics, and digital tools to elevate audit effectiveness, accuracy, and insights.
Qualifications and Skills
- Holding a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or a closely related discipline.
- Progress toward or attainment of Chartered Accountant registration or an equivalent professional credential.
- Minimum of 18 months experience in external audit within a professional services environment.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting standards, with enthusiasm to expand sector-specific knowledge.
- Strong organizational aptitude, time management, and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills enabling clear explanation of complex subjects.
- Team-oriented mindset and confidence in engaging with clients and colleagues to foster collaboration.
