Position Summary

The College of Health Sciences invites applications for faculty roles in Respiratory Therapy at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The selected candidate will report to the Department Head and be entrusted with the development, delivery, and assessment of courses related to Respiratory Therapy. Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, managing educational resources, collaborating with industry and academic partners, participating in advisory committees, coordinating projects, maintaining accreditation documentation, and contributing to university and community engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

• PhD or Doctorate in Respiratory Therapy or a closely related respiratory health discipline. Candidates without a doctoral degree in Respiratory Therapy must possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in the field.
• Requirement of holding or being eligible for an unrestricted professional license in the program’s country or state.
• Preferred certification includes Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC or the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists.
• Proven academic background with a minimum of five years full-time equivalent recent academic experience and at least two years full-time clinical respiratory therapy practice.
• Expertise in curriculum design, implementation, and assessment, along with employing diverse teaching strategies inclusive of classroom, laboratory, simulation, and clinical practicum settings.
• Proficiency in utilizing educational technologies and platforms to enhance teaching and learning.

Research and Scholarly Contribution

• Active involvement in applied research, scholarly publication, knowledge dissemination or professional practice, preferably with international impact.
• Preferred experience in quality improvement, curriculum development, and enhancing teaching and learning effectiveness.
