Position Overview

The Assistant Spa & Wellness Manager plays a critical role in supporting overall operations and management of the spa and wellness facilities. This position ensures exceptional guest experience, upholds superior service standards, coaches the team, and aids in the financial success of the department, prioritizing luxury hospitality excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing day-to-day spa operations and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain consistent delivery of spa treatments, wellness services, and guest engagement at the highest quality levels.
  • Supervise therapists, receptionists, fitness and wellness staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee appointment schedules, treatment room readiness, guest flow, cleanliness, and service delivery standards.
  • Provide warm, personalized, and professional experiences to all guests throughout their visit.
  • Address guest feedback, requests, and concerns professionally, ensuring timely solutions.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing development of spa personnel.
  • Conduct team meetings to communicate operational updates and departmental goals effectively.
  • Evaluate staff performance, offering constructive feedback and coaching for improvement.
  • Ensure full compliance with hotel, spa, health, hygiene, safety, and brand regulations.
  • Maintain exemplary cleanliness, presentation, hygiene, and ambiance of spa and wellness areas.
  • Manage treatment product and retail inventory with proper stock control and replenishment.
  • Assist preventive maintenance efforts and promptly report facility or equipment issues.
  • Support scheduling, attendance tracking, and manpower planning to meet operational demands.
  • Help achieve departmental revenue, productivity, and profitability objectives.
  • Monitor bookings, therapist utilization, retail sales, promotions, and cross-selling opportunities to optimize income.
  • Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational performance.
  • Promote spa treatments, wellness programs, memberships, packages, and retail products to enhance guest engagement and revenue.
  • Build strong guest relations encouraging repeat visits and loyalty.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to deliver a harmonious guest experience.
  • Stay updated on spa, wellness, beauty, and fitness trends to enhance service offerings.
  • Act as Spa & Wellness Manager during their absence ensuring seamless operation and service quality.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Spa & Wellness Manager or Director of Spa.

Requirements

  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in roles such as Spa Supervisor, Senior Therapist, or Reception Lead within 5-star hotels, luxury resorts, or premium wellness centers.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Healthcare/Wellness, or related disciplines.
  • Professional certifications in massage therapy, aesthetics or beauty therapy preferred; credentials like CIDESCO, CIBTAC or ITEC are advantageous especially for hands-on supervision.
  • Familiarity with spa management software systems such as Opera or SpaSoft.
  • Proven ability to train, lead, and motivate diverse teams of therapists and front desk staff.
