About the Role
Join our Food & Beverage team at Kempinski Hotels in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, as an Assistant Room Service Manager responsible for cultivating an exceptional guest experience while overseeing the room service operations. This position ensures the delivery of professional, efficient, and courteous services aligned with Kempinski and hotel standards. The role also focuses on driving sales revenue and maximizing profitability, with the growth opportunity to advance into the Room Service Manager position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Room Service Manager while managing the Room Service Supervisor, Order Taker, and Waitstaff team.
- Exemplify professionalism by adhering to punctuality, business attire, grooming, and hygiene standards established by Kempinski.
- Assist in managing costs, expenses, and quality control to achieve high top-line revenue and profitability in the room service department.
- Deliver and promote courteous and professional service consistently, ensuring team compliance with service standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work and surrounding areas at all times.
- Act as duty manager in the absence of the Room Service Manager within the outlet.
- Thoroughly understand the outlet’s concept and support training initiatives as delegated.
- Have a solid grasp of the monthly profit and loss statements relating to the department.
- Conduct outlet meetings and staff training sessions during the Room Service Manager’s absence.
- Practice proactive upselling for all menu items and suggest alternatives where appropriate.
- Foster communication and teamwork by attending daily and weekly meetings with culinary and outlet teams to continuously improve room service success.
- Prepare and contribute to necessary outlet reports, analyses, and monthly performance discussions.
- Operate POS systems competently as per assigned responsibility levels.
- Plan daily work schedules, routine checklists, and delegate station responsibilities.
- Report disciplinary incidents to the Room Service Manager promptly.
- Assist in annual reviews of the outlet operations manual and support supplier collaborations.
- Carry out product and equipment inventory checks as scheduled.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints courteously and effectively, ensuring follow-up actions with the Head or Assistant Head of Department.
- Ensure compliance with opening and closing procedures of the outlet.
- Act as Food & Beverage Duty Manager during the absence of senior Food & Beverage leaders.
- Assign tasks implementing multi-tasking among subordinates and monitor their performance regularly.
- Participate actively in daily and weekly Food & Beverage meetings when the Room Service Manager is absent.
- Fulfill any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Head of Department or dictated by hotel management needs.
