About the Role

Panda Express, a leading family-owned American Chinese restaurant group with nearly 2,800 locations globally, is seeking experienced leaders to join its store leadership team. As an Assistant Manager, you will oversee daily store operations, including hiring, managing staff, and driving financial performance while ensuring an excellent customer experience. To prepare you for success, Panda offers at least three weeks of paid store management training, mentorship, and ongoing support from a dedicated community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating and managing a single restaurant location.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise associates to meet business goals.
  • Lead and motivate the team to deliver outstanding guest service.
  • Drive achievement of financial targets and operational standards.
  • Oversee daily tasks and ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma is mandatory.
  • Flexible to relocate within 50 miles of residence as needed.
  • Available to work varied schedules, including opening, closing, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on business demands.
  • Serve Safe certification in food safety required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

While performing duties, associates work in a fast-paced environment with hot counters and steam, requiring standing for long periods (up to four hours), lifting items up to 50 lbs, operating kitchen equipment including Chinese cook knives, and reaching across 36-inch countertops. Noise levels are usually high, and storage/shelving spaces are limited and elevated. Effective communication skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and ability to handle difficult situations are essential.
