Job description
Overview
The Assistant Manager - Training supports the identification and resolution of employee and organizational development needs to help achieve key business goals. This role focuses on establishing effective training initiatives across various subject areas, such as product knowledge, company values, customer service, and leadership skills. Responsibilities include assisting with training needs analysis, developing training content, facilitating both customized and corporate training sessions, and evaluating training effectiveness to maximize return on investment.
Candidate Profile
- Applicants should hold either a 2-year degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field plus at least 1 year of relevant professional experience and a certified trainer credential,
- or a 4-year bachelor's degree in the same fields with certification as a trainer and no prior work experience required.
Core Functions
- Supports the administration and promotion of employee training programs.
- Exemplifies leadership in hospitality, delivers excellent customer service, and fosters a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Assists employees in recognizing behaviors that contribute to superior service.
- Ensures ongoing training is provided to align employee understanding with guest expectations.
- Employs effective training methods to build employee skills in guest satisfaction.
- Maintains regular communication with training cadre to support initiatives.
- Observes staff service behaviors and provides constructive feedback.
- Monitors training attendance and evaluates participant progress through frequent meetings.
- Collaborates with operational leaders to gauge technical and leadership competencies.
- Analyzes guest feedback, comment cards, and satisfaction data to identify improvement areas.
- Measures application of training to workplace performance and incorporates adult learning principles.
- Identifies performance gaps and partners with managers to devise targeted training solutions.
- Adapts training approaches as necessary and aligns development programs with business objectives.
- Sets guidelines for employee expectations and develops training to boost service quality.
- Promotes brand values consistently throughout training and departmental meetings.
- Supports training budget preparation and expense management to meet financial goals.
- Uses purchasing card responsibly to oversee departmental expenditures.
