Role Overview

As an Assistant Manager, you will support the operation of a single Panda Express store. Your responsibilities include recruiting, overseeing, and guiding associates to meet financial targets while delivering superior guest experiences. To prepare you, the company provides comprehensive, paid leadership training lasting three weeks or more, alongside ongoing mentorship and support from the Panda community.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring and managing staff to achieve store targets.
• Direct daily operations ensuring a smooth and efficient customer experience.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and service.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma is required.
• Ability and willingness to relocate to a Panda store within 50 miles of your residence.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.
• Certification in food safety (Serve Safe certified).

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The role entails working in hot and often noisy kitchen environments with limited workspace. Employees are expected to stand for extended periods (up to four hours), prepare hot and cold foods, and handle kitchen tools such as Chinese cook knives. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and reaching across counters approximately 36 inches high. The position requires quick work with accuracy, strong verbal communication skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and effective conflict management capabilities.
