Assistant Manager - OT Cyber Security - Technology Consulting

Opportunity Overview

This role focuses on embedding cybersecurity principles throughout the life cycle of major projects, from initial design stages to operational handover of OT systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project-specific security requirements in adherence to client policies, Qatar National ICSSS, and ISA/IEC 62443 standards.
• Apply the "secure by design" principle at all stages.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments focused on operational technology for all new systems.
• Supervise secure configuration, deployment, and commissioning processes for OT systems.
• Develop configuration baselines for each new system introduced.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors to ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Define and take part in security-oriented Factory and Site Acceptance Tests to confirm system security before deployment.
• Design secure OT network architectures following the Purdue Model.
• Lead vulnerability assessments for new OT systems.
• Contribute to the development and testing of OT-specific incident response plans.
• Facilitate smooth operational handover through training and awareness sessions for both OT and IT personnel on security posture and system maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant experience in Oil and Gas or associated industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, IT, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• At least six years’ experience in Cyber Security, with a minimum of three years dedicated to operational technology cybersecurity.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proven expertise managing security lifecycles in large industrial projects.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial protocols, DCS/PLC systems, and Purdue security model frameworks.
• Familiarity with OT Intrusion Detection Systems and asset monitoring technologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of OT security standards and frameworks.

Preferred Certifications

• Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP).
• ISA/IEC 62443 certifications.
• Other relevant vendor security certifications.
