Job Summary

The Assistant Manager - Mine Survey plays a vital role in conducting accurate and precise surveying operations within the mine. The position involves producing and updating detailed mine plans and layouts, tracking geological aspects, and ensuring all activities comply with pertinent regulations. The role demands close coordination with engineers, geologists, and management teams to deliver essential data critical for mine planning, development, and safety assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive topographical and underground surveys by leveraging advanced survey tools and methods to measure and chart mine features meticulously.
  • Capture and document dimensions, elevations, and geological contours to maintain precise and dependable data records.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art surveying software to gather, analyze, and report survey findings promptly and accurately.
  • Develop and update detailed mine plans, layout designs, and sectional maps reflecting current and future mine conditions.
  • Ensure all mine documentation adheres to statutory regulations, industry benchmarks, and company policies, facilitating seamless regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mining engineers, geologists, and management to optimize mine plans based on operational necessity and geological data.
  • Detect, record, and monitor geological formations, faults, and hazards, issuing early warnings on potentially unsafe or operation-impacting changes.
  • Support assessments of ground and roof stability by providing precise geological survey data and interpretations.
  • Assist geological mapping and modeling activities to aid in forecasting and managing geological challenges.
  • Ensure strict compliance with mining laws, safety protocols, and environmental standards during all survey processes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports and documentation required by regulatory agencies, submitting them punctually.
  • Participate actively in safety audits and inspections, offering survey data and documentation to uphold compliance and improve safety standards.
  • Provide survey-derived insights to assist mine design, project planning, and operational efficiency enhancement.
  • Support mine expansion and development initiatives by delivering precise survey information critical to project execution and decision-making.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams to align surveying tasks with broader operational objectives.
  • Implement and enhance digital survey solutions collaborating across departments to boost productivity and efficiency.

  • Internal: Heads of Departments, Employees
  • External: Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), Forest Department, Environmental Agencies
