Role Overview

The position of Manager - Security involves leading site security initiatives within a mining environment, focusing on enhancing safety and safeguarding assets through advanced security measures and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement automated surveillance using CCTV and other technologies to ensure continuous monitoring of the plant premises.
• Deploy automated security systems to regulate personnel, material, and vehicular movements within the mining area.
• Develop and enforce access control procedures combining technical and physical controls to secure critical locations.
• Integrate advanced surveillance technology to heighten monitoring effectiveness and vigilance over plant operations and surrounding zones, preventing unauthorized access or disturbances.
• Establish security protocols to protect the railway line used for coal transport, including contingency planning to address potential security threats ensuring uninterrupted operations.
• Execute initiatives to prevent white-collar crimes and unauthorized activities, investigate security incidents promptly, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage relationships and communication channels with local authorities, government agencies, community leaders, and other external stakeholders to address security concerns.
• Coordinate with legal teams to ensure compliance with mine security laws and utilize legal frameworks appropriately.
• Collaborate internally with senior management, site security leadership, finance, AESG, IT, HR, and legal departments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management or similar disciplines, or relevant experience as ex-army personnel.
• Preferably hold certifications like Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalents.
• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in site security management, physical security operations, or law enforcement roles.

Stakeholder Relationships

• Internal stakeholders include senior management, site security heads, finance, AESG, IT and digital transformation teams, HR, and legal.
• External collaborators encompass law enforcement agencies, security service providers, emergency responders, government regulators, legal consultants, industry associations, vendors, system integrators, and audit firms.
