Role Overview
The Assistant Manager role is pivotal in shaping the store environment and team dynamics, bringing the Gap brand experience to life for customers. The individual is tasked with driving profitable sales by overseeing customer interactions, product merchandising, and talent management. Working closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, this role involves coaching and mentoring Leads, Experts, and Brand Associates to uphold high standards and deliver exceptional customer experiences. This position is open for one vacancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute strategies to increase store sales focusing on customer satisfaction.
- Manage recruitment, hiring, and development of productive Brand Associate and Expert teams.
- Take ownership of designated operational areas within the store.
- Develop and implement action plans to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Carry out Service Leader responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain consistent application of standard operating procedures.
- Represent the Gap brand knowledgeably, while staying informed about competitors and the retail market.
- Encourage participation in community initiatives.
- Utilize omni-channel systems to create a seamless customer shopping experience.
- Ensure strict compliance with all store standards and policies.
Candidate Profile
- Experience of 1-3 years in retail management, either currently or previously employed in this field.
- Holder of a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Excellent communication skills for effective engagement with both customers and team members.
- A strong passion for retail and ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Goal-driven with a focus on meeting and exceeding business metrics.
- Leadership qualities that inspire team growth through coaching and mentoring.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings, overnight, and weekends to meet business demands.
- Familiarity with retail technology and systems.
- Physical capability to navigate the store environment, including the ability to lift items up to 30 pounds.
- Availability to travel as needed.
