Role Summary
The Assistant Manager plays a key role in setting the store's atmosphere and leading the team to bring the brand experience to customers. This position focuses on driving profitable sales through customer service, merchandise operations, and team development. Working closely with senior management, the Assistant Manager coaches and supports the store team to ensure high performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store sales by applying customer-focused strategies and processes.
- Recruit, onboard, and foster growth of Brand Associates and Experts.
- Take ownership of specific store operational areas.
- Implement plans aimed at maximizing operational efficiency and team productivity.
- Perform duties as a Service Leader when required.
- Ensure consistent adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Represent the Gap brand while monitoring competitors and retail trends.
- Encourage community engagement and representation.
- Utilize omni-channel capabilities to create seamless shopping experiences.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant standards.
Candidate Profile
- 1 to 3 years of experience in retail management.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Effective communicator able to engage both customers and team members to meet targets.
- Passionate about retail with the ability to thrive under fast-paced conditions.
- Motivated by metrics and committed to achieving business objectives.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on coaching and mentoring others for growth.
- Availability to work flexible hours including holidays, evenings, overnight, and weekends.
- Proficient in retail technology use.
- Physically capable of moving throughout the sales floor, stockroom, and office, including lifting items up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to travel when necessary.
