Assistant Manager - Broadbeach Tavern

About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Assistant Manager for the Broadbeach Tavern located in Mermaid Beach, Queensland. This role especially suits a candidate who enjoys leading during busy evening and overnight shifts, working primarily from 7:00pm to 5:00am across a unique four-day work week. You'll be entrusted with sole responsibility for the venue's late-night trading segment, ensuring smooth and safe operations while fostering a vibrant atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with local patrons to create a welcoming community feel.
• Assist the Publican in managing daily pub activities to guarantee smooth operations and an enjoyable environment.
• Gain knowledge and experience towards becoming a Publican while overseeing a dedicated hospitality team.
• Proactively address and resolve potential issues before escalation.
• Maintain enthusiastic, service-oriented interactions with customers every shift.
• Oversee security, crowd control, late gaming, and bar operations during night hours.
• Ensure thorough and efficient closing procedures of the venue by 5:00am.

Physical and Legal Requirements

• This position involves physical tasks including lifting and moving stock, kegs, and deliveries, so applicants must be capable of performing these safely and efficiently.
• Must hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)/Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG), Registered Manager Licence Victoria (RMLV), and Approved Manager Licence compliant with Queensland state regulations.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Previous experience working across bar, bistro, or gaming room environments with some supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong leadership readiness, having learned from experienced managers and preparing to step into a leadership role.
• Confidence, pride, and excellent interpersonal skills to represent the venue effectively during the Publican’s absence.
