Assistant Human Resources Manager

Position Overview

The Assistant Human Resources Manager supports daily HR operations including recruitment, compensation, and employee relations to provide excellent services that meet employee needs and drive business success. This role ensures adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting and selecting HR team members, maintaining connections with external recruitment sources, and participating in job fairs in line with HR procedures.
• Network with local organizations such as the Hotel Association to source candidates for current and future vacancies, while monitoring and applying quality control over candidate identification and selection.
• Support administration of employee benefits, including managing unemployment claims, reviewing reports, and representing the property at hearings as needed.
• Contribute to employee development by assisting with orientation programs, ensuring appropriate training and cross-training, promoting leadership involvement, and generating positive onboarding experiences.
• Maintain effective communication channels within the property, assist with progressive discipline processes, address employee concerns in a timely manner, and collaborate with Loss Prevention on accident investigations.
• Help manage legal compliance by ensuring accurate employee file documentation and security, adhere to privacy regulations, coordinate drug testing processes, and oversee safety and security policy communications.
• Participate in claims reviews to ensure timely closure and appropriate reserve levels, assist in handling Workers Compensation claims to optimize employee care and cost management.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a degree in Human Resources from an accredited university.
• Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in HR operations within the hotel industry.
