About the Role
Join a community-focused, locally owned retail store delivering health, beauty, and convenience services. This full-time position supports the Front Store Manager in managing staffing, physical resources, and financial goals to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain store standards consistently to improve the customer experience, increase foot traffic, and boost profitability.
- Collaborate with the management team to ensure store standards—including backroom operations—are upheld at all times.
- Assist in labor scheduling alongside the Front Store Manager, utilizing Work Force Management (WFM) tools to optimize staff productivity.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet business operational needs effectively.
Human Resources Duties
- Adhere to company human resources policies and standards.
- Participate in recruitment and hiring processes for all departments except Pharmacy in support of the Front Store Manager.
- Manage wage administration in line with SLPH guidelines.
- Promote company culture by leading with core values, fostering staff engagement, and motivating the team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong planning, judgment, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience with inventory management preparation and planning.
- Ability to control expenses using sound judgment.
- Leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and ongoing development of staff.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to handle shifting priorities efficiently.
Experience Requirements
- Prior retail management experience is required.
- Proven ability to lead business growth initiatives by example and support corporate programs.
- Experience working collaboratively with management teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
- Strong business and financial understanding.
- Ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $17.65 to $20.75 CAD, with final compensation influenced by the applicant's experience, knowledge, and location within Nova Scotia.
