Fire Alarm Inspector

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, servicing, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler, or Suppression life safety product lines, including competing brands.
• Handle low-voltage wiring and related devices essential for low-voltage systems operation.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements accurately using laptops or hard copy documentation.
• Adhere strictly to a structured inspection timetable to ensure timely completion.
• Document, access, and archive inspection records electronically using laptops.
• Perform minor system repairs and update programming during inspections.
• Offer technical coaching and guidance to junior inspectors and trainees.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Must possess CFAA Certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational credential.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational manuals.
• Experienced in using hand tools and multimeters.
• Skilled in troubleshooting systems and conducting necessary repairs.
• Capable of understanding and following both verbal and written instructions.
• Physically able to carry and move tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working at heights up to 40 feet and in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and above ceilings.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, to meet customer demands.
• Commitment to uphold safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Able to obtain and maintain any licenses required by national, provincial, and local regulations.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• Self-motivated and capable of operating independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills, a positive mindset, and the capacity to learn quickly.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with Special Hazards systems.
• Additional CFAA Certification.
• A minimum of two years’ verified inspection or service experience in Fire Alarm systems.
• Background in service roles.
• Familiarity with sprinklers, fire pumps, and suppression systems.

Compensation and Additional Information

The hourly wage ranges from $23.60 to $31.25 CAD, depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, and alignment with market standards. The role includes a competitive benefits package.
