Job Overview
Join the Hilton team as an Assistant Finance Manager at the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa on Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah. This role is pivotal in supporting the financial leadership team by enhancing financial operations and guiding the finance staff towards exceptional performance. You will act as a trusted finance advisor within the hotel, supporting robust compliance and controls while fostering strong partnerships across departments to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in executing financial strategies aligned with the hotel’s overall goals, focusing on maximizing profit and efficiency.
- Analyze financial performance by reviewing accounts, reconciling balances, and preparing insightful recommendations for hotel leadership and owners.
- Manage key finance functions such as Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Night Audit with strict adherence to internal controls and policies.
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy in all reporting and supporting internal audits to maintain transparency.
- Oversee financial transaction approvals including ledger reconciliations, tax filings, and payroll to uphold compliance and accuracy.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to finance team members through coaching, performance evaluations, and development initiatives, fostering a motivated and high-performing team.
- Support the Finance Director by monitoring financial outcomes, ensuring prompt financial reporting, and contributing towards achieving financial goals.
- Coordinate and review the month-end closing processes and ensure financial reports comply with GAAP, the Uniform System of Accounts, and Hilton's standards.
- Ensure all finance activities comply fully with company policies, regulations, and contractual obligations while maintaining seamless operations.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including management, commercial, IT, procurement, shared services, asset managers, and regional operations finance to meet business objectives.
- Assume departmental leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Finance Director, maintaining continuity of finance operations.
- Assist in recruiting, developing, and engaging finance professionals to build a top-tier finance team while participating in relevant training programs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong capability to analyze complex financial data and produce accurate forecasts, budgets, and financial projections.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial and operational issues efficiently.
- Experience in leading and developing teams with a focus on enhancing problem-solving skills and achieving targets.
- Self-motivated with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, implement improvements, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to present financial data clearly to various stakeholders including management and owners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with adaptability to new technologies.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is preferred.
