Role Overview

The Assistant Editor will play a vital role by providing both technical and organizational assistance to the editorial team from the beginning stages of production through to post-production. This position ensures a smooth and efficient editorial workflow, supports editors, and keeps materials meticulously organized and managed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain Adobe Premiere projects and keep associated files well organized.
• Manage and process storyboards using Storyboard Pro; import layout, animation, and composite shots.
• Import, log, and prepare dialogue recordings including scratch dialogue, production sessions, and ADR for editors.
• Generate output files necessary for various departments such as sound and music.
• Organize libraries of sound effects, music, and background sounds (walla).
• Support editors with preparations for screenings and quality control of outputs.
• Publish sequences to production, managing XML files and timing adjustments as required.
• Provide timely and accurate information to production teams.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least 12 months of experience in animation, film, or television editorial work.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Exceptional organizational abilities and strong attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of the animation production pipeline and workflow processes.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• A deep passion for animation.
• Experience with Storyboard Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, or Unreal Engine is advantageous.
