About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Assembler to join the Test Department of a respected engineering and manufacturing company located in Fareham. This full-time, permanent position operates on a day shift schedule and offers a salary of A329,000 per year. The role requires assembling various components and products as per precise engineering instructions to prepare them for testing, ensuring high-quality standards throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and finished products following detailed manufacturing and engineering guidelines
• Prepare assemblies meticulously for subsequent testing phases
• Perform mechanical assembly work using a wide array of hand tools and equipment
• Interpret and adhere to engineering drawings, technical work instructions, and production documentation
• Confirm all assemblies meet required specifications and quality standards
• Conduct basic visual inspections and dimensional checks of products
• Identify, document, and report any faults or defects discovered during assembly
• Accurately complete production and quality-related paperwork
• Collaborate closely with teams from Test, Production, and Quality departments
• Maintain strict adherence to health and safety protocols at all times
• Keep the work environment clean, safe, and well-organized

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in assembly or manufacturing roles, preferably within engineering or production settings
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical assembly skills
• Confidence and familiarity with hand tools
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and processes meticulously
• Excellent attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well both independently and within teams
• Experience reading engineering drawings or technical documents is advantageous
