About the Role
Join ABB's expanding Traction team located in Maryborough, Queensland, at our state-of-the-art manufacturing center on the Fraser Coast. As an Assembler for Traction Converters, you will play a vital role in supporting the QTMP project by assembling traction converter products using advanced machinery. You will help meet production goals by accurately following technical drawings, instructions, and production procedures to ensure top-quality assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assembly tasks to create semi-finished or finished products, systems, or panels, including packaging as integrated in production lines.
- Use manual methods and light hand tools as part of the assembly process.
- Conduct routine quality tests within defined production protocols.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain cleanliness in your work area.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferably possess a Certificate II in Electrotechnology or be qualified in Electrical Trades.
- Crane, jib crane, platform operation, and forklift driving certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience in mechanics, electrics, or automation, along with the capability to interpret construction and electrical blueprints.
- Experience with Loom Manufacturing, including terminations, is preferred but not required.
- Possess manual dexterity, strong analytical abilities, and an aptitude to retain technical knowledge.
- A cooperative team player who is able to follow detailed instructions and work according to plans.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving heat, repetitive activities, extended standing, and bending to handle components and tools.
- Demonstrate a commitment to producing high-quality work and possess problem-solving and specialist technical skills applicable to engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Capable of effective collaboration with local, national, and international teams.
- A positive, adaptable mindset with enthusiasm to manage multiple activities in a dynamic work setting.
