Artificial Intelligence Engineer

About the Role

Flexii, a rapidly growing startup revolutionizing the gig economy platform, is seeking a skilled Artificial Intelligence Engineer to develop and expand our AI-driven interview system and contribute to our broader AI roadmap. You will work hands-on in building intelligent solutions that automate recruitment processes and enhance internal operations, playing a foundational role in creating systems from the ground up within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy conversational AI agents using Gemini and Vertex AI for automated candidate screening and evaluation.
• Create LLM-powered workflows that convert unstructured process notes into organized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Develop advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems or similar technologies to enable natural language queries on internal documents and databases.
• Set up A/B testing frameworks and evaluation benchmarks to assess AI output effectiveness.
• Manage hybrid data architecture integrating PostgreSQL (for structured data), MongoDB (for unstructured transcripts and SOPs), and BigQuery (for analytics).
• Implement and maintain vector databases and embeddings such as Gemini Embeddings to support semantic search capabilities.
• Work closely with engineering teams to build APIs and ensure seamless backend integration with the Flutter frontend application.
• Monitor AI system scalability, costs, and compliance with data privacy and personally identifiable information (PII) standards.
• Contribute to AI-driven product experimentation and growth strategies as the data team expands.
• Document AI models, pipelines, and related business logic for knowledge sharing within the team.
• Continuously review and incorporate emerging AI tools and best practices to evolve the technology stack.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in AI engineering, backend development, or a related technical position.
• Strong expertise in generative AI, specifically working with Large Language Models such as the Gemini API and proficiency in prompt engineering.
• Hands-on experience managing databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB, with solid knowledge on structuring data to optimize AI applications.
• Practical skills in Google Cloud Platform services, including Vertex AI, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery.
• Familiarity with software development workflows, APIs, version control using Git, and coordination with frontend teams using Flutter.
• A proactive, self-driven startup mindset comfortable with multi-faceted roles and responsibilities required to build innovative systems from scratch.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex for developing complex AI agents.
• Knowledge of vector search technologies like Pinecone or Vertex AI Search for efficient data retrieval.
• Background in marketplace platforms, human resource technology, or business process automation sectors.
