Role Overview
We seek talented and imaginative Architects to participate in design and delivery across a range of sectors, scales, and geographic locations. Architects will be responsible for defined roles or work packages throughout the project lifecycle, from early design stages to technical execution and construction. Responsibility increases with experience and project demands. Recent graduates without prior architectural experience will receive mentoring and support, with chances to take on greater responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through all phases of projects.
- Own specific design packages and ensure timely coordinated delivery.
- Develop creative design concepts from feasibility through detailed design.
- Balance design goals with technical, cost, construction, and scheduling constraints.
- Prepare drawings, models, diagrams, reports, and client presentations.
- Coordinate architectural design efforts with structural, MEP, and specialist consultants.
- Engage in client, consultant, and contractor communications and meetings.
- Build positive relationships with project stakeholders.
- Support brief development, change management, and statutory submissions.
- Review and coordinate information from consultants and contractors.
- Follow project programmes, quality policies, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and information.
- Contribute to planning, technical submissions, tender documents, and construction activities.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and snagging support as appropriate.
- Identify and report risks, issues, and potential scope changes.
- Mentor junior colleagues and promote a collaborative studio environment.
- Participate in professional development, training, and mentoring activities.
- Adhere to 10 Design’s CAD, BIM, and information management standards.
- Support risk management, quality audits, health, safety, and building safety procedures.
- Accurately record timesheets and expenses.
Personal and Professional Values
- Emphasize open communication, active listening, and positive team contributions.
- Demonstrate leadership through ownership, sound judgment, and prioritization.
- Combine disciplined thinking with creativity to develop innovative, resolved solutions.
- Maintain curiosity, openness to new ideas, and a commitment to ongoing learning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Architect with UK ARB and RIBA Part 3, or equivalent international qualification.
- Experience contributing to architectural projects across one or more design stages.
- Understanding of project stages, construction techniques, materials, and standards.
- Knowledge of UK construction legislation and procedures, or relevant regional equivalents such as Middle East.
- Developing or established expertise in early design, detailed design, or construction-stage documentation and delivery.
- Experience with UK or international projects is advantageous; Middle East project experience is a plus.
- For demanding projects or senior appointments, experience leading significant teams or packages may be required.
Technical Skills
- Advanced skills in Rhino, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Intermediate proficiency using Adobe InDesign.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and visualization tools like Enscape.
- Basic usage of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Competence in reviewing and correcting CAD and BIM outputs by others.
- Desirable experience includes Grasshopper, Adobe Illustrator, and BIM model coordination platforms.
Communication and Professional Skills
- Excellent English communication, both spoken and written, including report writing and editing.
- Ability to convey design ideas through hand-drawn visuals and sketches.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Sound judgment with recognition of knowledge limits and seeking guidance as needed.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and managing multiple deadlines.
- A compelling design portfolio showcasing creativity, technical insight, and graphic communication.
Personal Attributes
- Strong design aptitude with growing confidence in design and technical tasks.
- Creative, analytical, and inquisitive in problem-solving approaches.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and positive team player.
- Proactive, responsible, and dedicated to ongoing growth and development.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with senior architects.
Additional Information
- Hybrid working arrangements apply, with studio attendance per company policy.
- Flexibility may be necessary depending on project and business requirements.
- Occasional travel for meetings, workshops, site visits, and project work is expected.
