Job description
Role Overview
The Architect will take charge of crafting, developing, and supervising architectural projects from initial concept to construction completion. This position involves close collaboration with clients, engineers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams ensuring designs fulfill functional, aesthetic, technical, safety, regulatory, financial, and timeline targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Create architectural concepts, detailed designs, layouts, elevations, plans, and construction documents.
- Prepare and evaluate architectural drawings, technical specifications, scheduling, and related documentation.
- Formulate design proposals adhering to client needs, project goals, and relevant regulations.
- Coordinate architectural schematics with structural, MEP, civil, and other engineering teams.
- Undertake site visits, inspections, and surveys to assess project progress and conditions.
- Review shop drawings, materials, samples, and technical submissions thoroughly.
- Ensure adherence to approved designs, building codes, quality requirements, and specifications.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities about architectural matters.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts, technical challenges, construction defects, and required adjustments.
- Support planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and construction operations related to architectural scope.
- Monitor construction activities, confirming compliance with approved plans and specifications.
- Respond to RFIs, technical queries, change orders, and site-specific issues promptly.
- Compile design presentations, project reports, inspection notes, and other necessary documentation.
- Assist in obtaining authority approvals, permits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Contribute to design development, value engineering, sustainability efforts, and project enhancement initiatives.
- Maintain the highest standards in functionality, aesthetic appeal, safety, quality, and design integrity across projects.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in architectural design, construction management, consulting, or project development.
- Solid understanding of architectural design concepts, construction methodologies, materials, and detailing.
- Proficient in preparing architectural drawings, specifications, layouts, and construction documentation.
- Skilled in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and 3D Max or comparable tools.
- Familiarity with UAE building codes, regulations, authority procedures, and international standards is an advantage.
- Experience collaborating with structural, MEP, civil, and other engineering disciplines.
- Strong grasp of construction methods, material specifications, and onsite procedures.
- Creative, analytical, technically skilled, with excellent problem-solving aptitude.
- Meticulous attention to detail with emphasis on design quality.
- Effective communication, presentation, coordination, and teamwork capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications—Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Professional, dependable, organized, proactive, and adept at handling multiple project demands simultaneously.
