Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Architect to join our team in Riyadh. The successful candidate will contribute to all project phases, developing architectural design solutions and overseeing construction administration. You should be adept at translating conceptual sketches and documents into detailed 3D models and construction drawings while addressing technical challenges with innovative, practical solutions. Collaboration, accountability, and clear communication are integral to succeeding in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design development and technical delivery for architectural projects.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of architectural principles, building codes, and material properties.
- Engage in design development, construction documentation, and construction administration phases.
- Collaborate closely with design teams, clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory bodies, and fabricators to meet project goals.
- Create Building Information Models (BIM) and precise construction drawings.
- Tackle complex design and technical issues with innovative and feasible solutions.
- Support and contribute to sustainability targets throughout every project phase.
- Research and apply sustainable design strategies to enhance environmental performance.
- Conduct climate-centric analyses and studies for project optimization.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 0 to 3 years of experience in an architectural practice environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent qualification.
- Licensed or registered architect preferred.
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and structural systems.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork, and emotional intelligence in handling challenging situations.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Accreditations like LEED, WELL, Fitwel, or Living Future Accreditation are desirable.
- Demonstrated collaborative approach toward achieving ambitious sustainability goals.
- Commitment to personal and team growth in sustainable design knowledge.
- Proficiency in software such as Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
- Additional skills in Illustrator, Rhino, and Grasshopper are advantages.
Design Technology Competencies
- Fundamental skills in Autodesk Revit for modeling and documentation.
- Basic familiarity with Rhinoceros for design authoring.
- Understanding of real-time rendering, material management, and integrated BIM-parametric workflows are a plus.
- Knowledge of interoperability among design platforms like AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino.
Software Tools Utilized
- Design Authoring: Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, Navisworks
- Collaboration: BIM360
- Computational Design: Grasshopper, Dynamo
- Building Performance Simulation: Insight, Sefaira, Diva, Ladybug Tools
- Visualization: Vray, Enscape, Twinmotion, 3DSMax
