Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Architect to join a well-established and expanding architectural practice based in Cork, Ireland. This role offers the flexibility of fully hybrid working arrangements and the opportunity to manage diverse projects within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects from initial concept stages through planning, detailed design, and construction phases.
  • Generate and review architectural drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents utilizing Revit and AutoCAD software.
  • Coordinate architectural inputs with structural engineers, mechanical and electrical consultants, and specialist designers to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Ensure all design work fully complies with Irish Building Regulations, planning policies, and applicable standards.
  • Support Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) compliance by managing documentation and inspection records.
  • Lead design team meetings and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Conduct site inspections, monitor construction progress, and address technical questions as necessary.
  • Manage project schedules, deliverables, and uphold quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of a recognized degree in Architecture and current registration with the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI).
  • A minimum of three years’ practical architectural experience, particularly within the context of Irish Building Regulations.
  • Proficient user of Revit with a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • A thorough understanding of BCAR, Irish planning legislation, and the statutory approval process.
  • Experience preparing planning applications, tender documentation, and detailed construction packages.
  • High-level skills in technical detailing, construction methods, and materials.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams and maintaining direct client communication.
  • Familiarity with contract administration and on-site inspection procedures.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently in a hybrid team environment.
  • Full legal authorization to work in Ireland.
