Role Overview

The Applied AI Engineer is responsible for transforming client challenges into practical AI solutions by working closely with clients and strategists. The role emphasizes both product-oriented thinking and strong engineering skills to develop custom applications atop Arabic-capable language models, deploying them within government and enterprise workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement applications using large language models (LLMs), such as retrieval systems, agents, document intelligence, and conversational tools.
• Customize models for Arabic languages, including Modern Standard Arabic, Gulf dialects, and bilingual content.
• Create rapid prototypes and demonstrations that showcase possibilities to clients.
• Develop prompts, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation frameworks tailored to client data.
• Collaborate directly with client teams to gather requirements and refine solutions based on feedback.
• Collaborate with AI Operations to convert prototypes into stable production systems.
• Document learnings to develop reusable components and best practice playbooks.
• Prioritize both cultural and model accuracy, designing applications with the end user in mind.

Qualifications and Experience

• Deep alignment with Mint AI's core values and demonstrated ethical decision-making throughout your work.
• At least 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including building applications with LLMs.
• Proficient in Python programming and familiar with contemporary AI frameworks and vector databases.
• Strong understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, fine-tuning trade-offs, and model evaluation techniques.
• Experience liaising directly with customers or business stakeholders.
• Ability to work rapidly, take full ownership of deliverables, and clearly communicate technical decisions.
