Job description
Role Overview
The Airspace Design Specialist plays a crucial role in developing a practical, adaptable, and efficient airspace framework including procedures, sectors, and routing. This role aims to support core aviation operations and external commercial activities within established performance indicators and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Create precise, timely Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP) to support or substitute for text in eAIP documents and supplements, serving aviation industry needs.
- Utilize cutting-edge technological solutions for the design and production of IFPs meeting industry standards.
- Coordinate and validate data to assure accuracy and compliance among IFP designers.
- Design and upkeep IFPs within Saudi Arabia in line with GACA regulations and ICAO standards.
- Ensure all safety, quality, and presentation guidelines for IFPs and eAIP materials are met to uphold aircraft safety across KSA airspace.
- Gather and assess obstacle data affecting IFPs and collaborate with regulatory bodies for approvals.
- Evaluate the effect of obstacles on flight procedures and accurately categorize them.
- Maintain proper records of assessed obstacles and set maximum permissible heights for future structures.
- Conduct aeronautical studies to analyze the hazards potential for navigation, considering VFR and IFR operations, aerodrome usage, altitude restrictions, and instrument procedures.
- Assess current or proposed airspace restrictions impacting IFP safety.
- Provide expert advice to ensure technical accuracy and proper formatting in IFP chart presentations.
- Edit charts for clarity, precision, and readability under normal operating conditions.
- Operate in compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, contributing to their continuous enhancement focused on cost effectiveness and productivity.
- Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture embodying values such as innovation, safety, and agility through teamwork.
- Maintain adherence to all company and regulatory compliance standards, reporting any discrepancies.

Qualifications & Experience
- Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Aviation or an equivalent field.
- Certification: Mandatory PANS-OPS approved training.
- Preferred additional certifications relevant to aviation or technical disciplines.
- Experience: At least 3 years in a related aviation or technological solutions role.
