Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly inspect and prepare aircraft panel and component surfaces.
• Remove coatings and address minor corrosion on aircraft or their parts.
• Apply various paints and specialty coatings using techniques like spraying, rolling, and brushing.
• Apply stencils, decals, aircraft markings, livery, and registrations accurately.
• Rectify and refurbish aircraft components through surface preparation and painting.
• Use approved maintenance data to apply specialized coatings to aircraft parts.
• Plan and manage own painting and finishing maintenance tasks.
• Ensure quality standards in aviation maintenance processes related to painting and finishing are upheld.
• Interpret and work with aviation maintenance technical data including manuals, drawings, and specifications relevant to painting.
• Complete required aviation industry documentation conforming to regulatory and quality standards.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of two years’ experience in automotive or aircraft painting is preferred.
• Relevant background in aviation or related fields is advantageous.
• Sound understanding of quality assurance procedures, ideally within aviation maintenance.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively self-manage and coordinate with others.
• Capable of both autonomous work and collaborating within a team.
• Possession or eligibility to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Strong commitment to work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to acquire an Airside Driver’s Licence.

Compensation and Benefits

This role is remunerated under the Jetstar Airways Engineering & Maintenance Enterprise Agreement 2023, with a base salary of AUD 83,236.
